Description

Bacon Wrapped Smokies are a savory, irresistible appetizer made with little smokies and crispy bacon, balanced by a sweet brown sugar coating. Perfect for gatherings!


Ingredients

  • 1 lb sliced bacon (cut into thirds)
  • 1 lb little smokies
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • ¼ teaspoon paprika
  • ⅛ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F and line a baking tray with foil.
  • Mix brown sugar, cayenne, paprika, and black pepper in a bowl.
  • Wrap bacon around each smoky and secure with a toothpick.
  • Sprinkle half of the brown sugar mixture over the wrapped smokies.
  • Bake for 15 minutes, flip, then sprinkle the remaining mixture on top.
  • Bake for an additional 15 minutes until bacon is crispy.

Notes

Use turkey bacon for a lighter version.
Try using cocktail sausages for variety.
For extra crispiness, place the smokies on a wire rack while baking.
