Description

This Beef Chili boasts a delightful combination of tender ground pork and beef, fresh vegetables, and aromatic spices, making it a quick and satisfying meal. Perfect for cozy nights or when you need a hearty dish, it’s incredibly easy to prepare and is sure to please everyone at the table.


Ingredients

  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • ½ lb ground pork
  • ½ lb extra lean ground beef
  • 227 g can of mushrooms (or use fresh)
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic
  • ½ 35 g pkg clubhouse chili seasoning mix
  • ½ 35 g pkg clubhouse spicy seasoning mix
  • 128 oz can diced tomatoes (796 ml)
  • 1 10 -10 oz can tomato soup
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1540 ml can dark red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 6 cups mashed potatoes (optional)
  • grated light cheese
  • light sour cream
  • additional fresh dill

Instructions

  • Brown the ground pork and beef with the diced onion and green pepper over medium-high heat.
  • Once the meat, onions, and peppers are browned, add the remaining ingredients (except dill, cheese, and mashed potatoes).
  • Simmer for 15 minutes over medium heat.
  • Add the fresh dill and stir well.
  • Continue to simmer on low until the green peppers and onions are soft, about 5-10 more minutes.
  • Serve over 1 cup of mashed potatoes, if desired.

Notes

You can use leftover or instant mashed potatoes for serving.
For a spicier kick, adjust the amount of spicy seasoning mix to taste.
Adding fresh dill enhances the flavor, so do not skip it!
