Description

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 8 oz. bittersweet chocolate
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 5 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2/3 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 13×9 inch baking pan, then set it aside.
  • In a 3-quart saucepan, melt the butter and bittersweet chocolate together over low heat, stirring until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool.
  • Once the chocolate mixture has cooled, whisk in the sugar and vanilla extract. Then, add the eggs one at a time, whisking until combined and smooth after each addition.
  • In a separate bowl, sift together the cocoa powder, all-purpose flour, and salt. Gradually combine this dry mixture with the chocolate mixture, whisking thoroughly until blended.
  • Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and bake for 25 to 35 minutes. Allow the brownies to cool completely before cutting into squares.
