Description

This Cajun Shrimp and Sausage Pasta is a delightful blend of flavors, featuring spicy shrimp, smoky sausage, and a creamy sauce, making it the perfect choice for a quick and comforting dinner.

Ingredients

  • Fettuccine (8 ounces)
  • Large Raw Shrimp (12 ounces)
  • Cajun Seasoning (1 tablespoon + pinch)
  • Extra Virgin Olive Oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Smoked Sausage (1 ring / 13.5 ounces)
  • Unsalted Butter (¼ cup or ½ stick)
  • Garlic (1 tablespoon minced)
  • Heavy Whipping Cream (2 cups)
  • Kosher Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Black Pepper (½ teaspoon)
  • Crushed Red Pepper (¼ teaspoon)
  • Parmesan Cheese (1 cup, grated)
  • Parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Boil the pasta until al dente, reserving ½ cup pasta water before draining.
  • Season shrimp with Cajun seasoning and set aside.
  • Sauté smoked sausage in olive oil until golden brown; set aside.
  • Cook seasoned shrimp until pink and opaque; set aside with sausage.
  • Melt butter and sauté garlic until fragrant.
  • Add heavy cream and remaining Cajun seasoning; bring to a gentle boil.
  • Simmer sauce until thickened, about 6-8 minutes.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
  • Combine pasta, sausage, and shrimp in sauce; toss together, adjusting consistency with reserved pasta water if needed.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve hot.

Notes

Feel free to substitute fettuccine with any pasta you prefer.
Adjust Cajun seasoning according to your personal spice tolerance.
For a dairy-free option, you can use coconut cream instead of heavy whipping cream.
