Description

These Chocolate Covered Mint Oreos are a delightful treat combining crunchy mint-flavored cookies and smooth chocolate. They’re easy to prepare and make for an unforgettable dessert every time.

Ingredients

  • mint flavored oreos – 24 cookies
  • semisweet chocolate disks – 16 ounces
  • peppermint extract – 1/4 teaspoon
  • green sprinkles – 2 tablespoons

Instructions

  • Place the semisweet chocolate disks in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds, then stir. Continue heating in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and glossy.
  • Add peppermint extract to the melted chocolate, mixing well.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone mat.
  • Using a fork, dip one Oreo cookie at a time into the melted chocolate. Lift the cookie and gently tap the fork against the bowl to remove excess chocolate.
  • Place the chocolate-coated Oreo onto the prepared baking sheet.
  • Once all cookies are coated, pour the remaining melted chocolate into a small piping bag or a Ziploc bag with the corner cut off.
  • Drizzle the chocolate in a zigzag pattern over the cookies, then immediately sprinkle with green sprinkles.
  • Allow the cookies to set at room temperature for 30-60 minutes, or refrigerate for 15 minutes until the chocolate is firm.

Notes

For a more intense chocolate flavor, use dark chocolate instead of semisweet.
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
Feel free to change the sprinkles to match any holiday or occasion.
