Description

This chocolate ganache frosting is a simple yet elegant addition to your desserts. With just two main ingredients, it delivers a rich flavor and smooth texture, perfect for cakes, cupcakes, and brownies, making your treats absolutely irresistible.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225g) semi-sweet or dark chocolate, finely chopped
  • 1 cup (240ml) heavy cream
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter (optional)
  • ½ tsp vanilla extract (optional)
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  • Chop the chocolate into small, uniform pieces and place in a heatproof bowl.
  • Heat the heavy cream in a saucepan over medium heat until it simmers; then remove from heat.
  • Pour the hot cream over the chopped chocolate and let sit for 2-3 minutes without stirring.
  • Stir the mixture from the center until smooth and glossy; add butter, salt, and vanilla if desired.
  • Allow to cool until desired consistency is reached for glazing or frosting.

Notes

Use high-quality chocolate for the best flavor.
Avoid boiling the cream to maintain smoothness.
Store leftover ganache at room temperature for two days, or in the fridge for a week.
