Description

Classic Chocolate Chess Pie features a rich, fudgy filling enveloped in a buttery crust. This dessert is easy to make and perfect for gatherings or family dinners.

  • 4 ounces semisweet chocolate (chopped or semisweet chocolate chips)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • Powdered sugar (for dusting, optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375°F and prepare the pie shell for blind baking.
  • Melt chocolate and butter in a saucepan until smooth, then cool slightly.
  • In another bowl, mix sugar, cocoa powder, cornstarch, and salt.
  • Whisk eggs, then incorporate evaporated milk and vanilla.
  • Combine the melted chocolate into the egg mixture, then mix with dry ingredients until smooth.
