Description

This Creamy Garlic Pasta is an easy 30-minute dinner that’s rich, flavorful, and comforting. With simple ingredients like spaghetti, garlic, and parmesan cheese, it’s perfect for a quick meal or a special occasion.


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces spaghetti
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup butter (unsalted)
  • 1 medium onion (chopped)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • salt and pepper (to taste)
  • 2 teaspoons italian seasoning
  • ½ cup white wine (such as sauvignon blanc)
  • 1½ cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Cook spaghetti according to package instructions. Reserve ½ cup of pasta water and drain.
  • In a large skillet, add olive oil and butter; melt over medium heat.
  • Add chopped onion and cook for 3 to 5 minutes until softened.
  • Stir in minced garlic; cook for another 30 seconds until aromatic.
  • Season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning.
  • Pour in white wine and simmer for about 3 minutes.
  • Add heavy cream and bring to a boil.
  • Stir in the reserved pasta water and simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Remove from heat and stir in parmesan cheese until melted.
  • Add cooked pasta; toss well to combine.
  • Garnish with additional parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes.

Notes

Feel free to adjust the amount of red pepper flakes according to your heat preference.
For a lighter version, substitute half of the heavy cream with vegetable broth.
