Description

Crockpot Spaghetti Meat Sauce is an easy, flavorful dish combining ground beef, Italian sausage, and rich tomatoes. Perfect for family dinners, this hearty sauce will warm your heart and satisfy your cravings for homemade comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb 85/15 ground beef
  • 1 lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 3 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 2 jars pasta sauce (24 oz. each)
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 bay leaf
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Brown the ground beef and Italian sausage in a skillet for 5-7 minutes.
  • Sauté the diced onion and minced garlic for 2 minutes after the meat is browned.
  • Transfer the meat and aromatics to a slow cooker.
  • Add the pasta sauce and crushed tomatoes to the slow cooker along with seasonings and stir.
  • Cover and cook on LOW for 6-8 hours or on HIGH for 3-4 hours.
  • Serve the sauce over cooked spaghetti, garnished with Parmesan cheese.

Notes

For a leaner version, substitute ground turkey for the beef and sausage.
To thicken, simmer the sauce uncovered for the last hour of cooking.
Use fresh tomatoes instead of canned for a fresher taste if desired.
