- 1 cup Milk
- 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast (7 grams)
- 1 tsp White granulated sugar
- 1 Large egg (room temperature)
- 1 tsp Salt
- 1 1/2 TBSP White granulated sugar
- 5 TBSP Unsalted butter (room temperature and cubed)
- 3 cups All-purpose flour (plus 1/3 cup for adjustments)
- 2 TBSP Unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 TBSP Honey
Instructions
- Warm the milk to 110℉ and sprinkle yeast and sugar on it. Let sit for 10 minutes until foamy.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, 1 1/2 tablespoons of sugar, and salt. Add egg and butter; mix until a rough dough forms.
- Assess dough texture; add more flour if sticky. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Preheat oven to 200℉. Let the dough rise in a greased bowl in the oven for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough, divide into 15 equal portions, and shape into balls. Place in a greased 9×13-inch pan and let rise for another hour.
- Preheat oven to 350℉ and bake rolls for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush warm rolls with melted honey butter mixture after baking.
