Ingredients
- pre-made sugar cookie dough (24-oz roll)
- natural pink food coloring (beet powder mixed with water)
- cinnamon sugar blend (2 tbsp cinnamon + ¼ cup white sugar)
- slivered almonds (¼ cup)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Divide the dough into eight equal portions, rolling each one into a smooth ball.
- Flatten each ball into an oval shape about ¼-inch thick.
- Use a butter knife to carve a gentle “C” curve along one long edge of each oval.
- Mix 2 teaspoons of beet powder with 1 teaspoon of water and brush it lightly over the surfaces of the cookies.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar blend on the curved edge of each cookie.
- Press 3-4 slivered almonds along the curved edge to resemble ears.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 12-14 minutes, until the edges are barely golden.
Notes
You can adjust the intensity of the pink color by adding more or less beet powder.
For a fun variation, try adding different toppings like mini chocolate chips or sprinkles.
Make sure to check the cookies frequently towards the end of baking to avoid over-baking.
