Description

This Eggnog French Toast Casserole features a delightful blend of eggnog, warm spices, and buttery bread. Simple to prepare, it’s perfect for holiday brunches or cozy breakfasts.


Ingredients

  • ¼ cup unsalted butter
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1 loaf french or brioche bread (about 810 cups, cut or torn into cubes)
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2½ cups eggnog
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 cup maple syrup
  • 12 oz bourbon

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 425℉ and butter a 9×13” pan.
  • Spread brown sugar on the bottom of the pan.
  • Place bread cubes evenly in the pan.
  • Whisk together eggs, eggnog, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a bowl; pour over bread and let soak.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and firm to touch.
  • For syrup, warm maple syrup in a saucepan, add bourbon to taste, and drizzle over servings.

Notes

For gluten-free, substitute with gluten-free bread.
Best served warm with bourbon maple syrup drizzled on top.
Make ahead by storing in the fridge overnight before baking.
