Description

This Gingerbread Syrup is a delightful blend of warm spices and rich molasses, perfect for drizzling over breakfast or using in festive cocktails. Simple to make and packed with flavor!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 1/3 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup molasses
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Instructions

  • Combine water, dark brown sugar, granulated sugar, molasses, ground ginger, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and cloves in a saucepan.
  • Bring the mixture to a boil over high heat, stirring gently until sugars dissolve.
  • Lower the heat and simmer for 5 minutes until syrup thickens and flavors meld.
  • Remove from heat and let cool before pouring into a clean jar.

Notes

Adjust sugar levels if syrup is too sweet for your taste.
Using fresh spices enhances the syrup’s flavor significantly.
For a more intense flavor, let the syrup sit for a day before using.
