This Homemade Shake and Bake offers a crispy, seasoned coating for chicken without any frying. It’s easy to prepare, quick to cook, and perfect for a family meal!

- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon garlic salt
- ½ teaspoon pepper
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
- ½ teaspoon dried parsley
- ½ teaspoon thyme
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- 5 chicken breasts
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large Ziplock bag, combine breadcrumbs, cornstarch, garlic salt, pepper, onion powder, paprika, parsley, and thyme.
- Add 1 tablespoon of olive oil to the breadcrumb mix and shake until it's sandy in texture.
- Coat each chicken breast in the remaining olive oil.
- Place chicken in the bag with the breadcrumb mixture one at a time and shake until well coated.
- Arrange coated chicken on a foil-lined baking sheet.
- Bake for about 20 minutes or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (75°C).
Notes
Using panko breadcrumbs will give an extra crunch.
Allow chicken to come to room temperature for even cooking.
Experiment with spices for different flavor profiles.
