Description

Enjoy a delightful Horchata Latte, perfect for coffee lovers seeking a homemade beverage. Made with rice and cinnamon, it’s an easy and flavorful treat.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup white rice
  • 1 cinnamon stick
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 cup milk or dairy alternative
  • 1/2 cup sugar (or to taste)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. In a blender, combine the rinsed rice, cinnamon stick, and 4 cups of water. Blend until the rice is somewhat broken down.
  3. Let the mixture sit for at least 3 hours, or overnight for better flavor.
  4. Strain the rice mixture through a fine mesh sieve or cheesecloth into a large pitcher. Discard the solids.
  5. Add the milk, sugar, vanilla, and salt to the rice milk. Stir well until sugar is dissolved.
  6. Serve over ice for a cold version, or heat for a comforting warm beverage.

Notes

Adjust sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
