- 1 pound ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning
- 12 ounces tortilla chips sturdy chips to hold the toppings
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese for melting
- 1 cup shredded monterey jack cheese for melting
- ½ cup jalapeños sliced, for added heat
- ½ cup sour cream for topping
- ½ cup guacamole for topping
- ½ cup fresh salsa for topping
- 1 teaspoon salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until it's browned. Drain excess fat and mix in the taco seasoning.
- Arrange the tortilla chips evenly on a baking sheet. Spoon the cooked ground beef on top of the chips.
- Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese over the beef. Bake in an oven preheated to 375°F (190°C) for 10-12 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Take out from the oven and add sliced jalapeños, sour cream, guacamole, and fresh salsa as toppings.
- Serve right away, optionally garnished with cilantro or additional toppings as preferred.
Notes
For extra flavor, try adding black beans or corn on top of your nachos.
Ensure to use sturdy tortilla chips to hold the toppings and avoid sogginess.
