Description

This Onion Soup Gravy Chicken Skillet is bursting with flavors from caramelized onions, tender chicken, and earthy mushrooms. A quick and comforting meal ready in 30 minutes, perfect for busy nights or family dinners.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tbsp salted butter
  • ½ cup chopped onion
  • ½ cup green bell pepper
  • 4 oz canned mushrooms
  • 1 pkg onion soup mix
  • 1 ¼ cups water
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp cold water
  • Cooked rice

Instructions

  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and melt the butter.
  • Add onions and green peppers; sauté for 3-4 minutes until onions are translucent.
  • Season chicken with salt and pepper and add to the skillet, cooking for 5-6 minutes per side until golden brown and cooked through.
  • Stir in mushrooms and onion soup mix; pour in water and Worcestershire sauce, bringing to a simmer.
  • Mix cornstarch with cold water to create a slurry; add to the skillet and stir until gravy thickens, about 3-4 minutes.
  • Serve over warm rice, garnished with parsley.
