Description

This Slow Cooker Sausage and Peppers dish is simple to prepare and bursting with flavor. Italian sausages, colorful peppers, and rich marinara sauce create a comforting meal perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • Italian sausage links (2 packages, 19 ounces each)
  • Olive oil (1 tablespoon)
  • Bell peppers (6 total, a mix of colors, sliced into strips)
  • Onions (2, sliced into strips)
  • Garlic (4 cloves, minced)
  • Marinara sauce (1½ cups)
  • Italian seasoning (1 tablespoon)
  • Salt and pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  • Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add olive oil.
  • Sear Italian sausage links for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  • In the slow cooker, combine sliced bell peppers, onions, minced garlic, marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  • Transfer seared sausages to the slow cooker on top of the vegetables.
  • Cover and cook on low for about 5 hours or high for 3 hours.
