Description

These wonderful Sugar Cookie Cinnamon Rolls combine soft sugar dough with a creamy cinnamon filling, perfect for festive occasions or cozy mornings. Whip them up quickly and enjoy their irresistible flavor topped with cream cheese icing.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup Milk
  • 2 1/4 tsp Active dry yeast
  • Sprinkle of sugar
  • 1 Large egg
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 3 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 3 TBSP White granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 1/2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/3 cup Christmas sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 2/3 cup White granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract
  • 2 TBSP Milk
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar
  • 1 TBSP Ground cinnamon
  • 4 oz Cream cheese
  • 4 TBSP Unsalted butter
  • 1 cup Powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp Pure vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300℉ and bake 1 1/2 cups of flour for 8 minutes.
  • Heat milk to 110℉, sprinkle yeast and sugar, let sit until bubbly.
  • Mix dry ingredients: 3 1/2 cups flour, sugar, salt; add milk mixture, egg, and butter.
  • Knead dough until tacky, perform windowpane test.
  • Let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour.
  • Prepare sugar cookie dough with remaining ingredients.
  • Combine butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon for filling.
  • Roll out dough, spread filling, and shape rolls.
  • Let rolls rise in a baking dish for 20 minutes.
  • Bake at 375℉ for 25-28 minutes.
  • Make icing by blending cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla.
  • Spread icing over warm rolls and top with sprinkles.

Notes

For dairy-free, use non-dairy butter and milk substitutes.
You can freeze rolls for up to 3 months, reheat in a 350℉ oven.
Try adding nuts or dried fruits to the filling for extra flavor.
