These Valentine Bacon Wrapped Water Chestnuts deliver irresistible flavor and crunch! With crispy bacon, a sweet glaze, and quick prep, they are ideal for gatherings and special occasions.

Ingredients

  • Whole water chestnuts (1 can, approx. 225 g)
  • Center cut bacon (1 package, approx. 340 g)
  • Ketchup (240 ml)
  • Brown sugar (200 g, packed)
  • Worcestershire sauce (15 ml)
  • Toothpicks

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 175°C (350°F).
  • Drain and pat dry water chestnuts.
  • Cut bacon into thirds and wrap each water chestnut tightly, securing with a toothpick.
  • Place on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 25 minutes until the bacon begins to crisp.
  • In a saucepan, mix ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce over medium heat until thick.
  • Drizzle the sauce over the wrapped water chestnuts and bake for an additional 25 minutes until the bacon is crispy.
  • Serve warm with toothpicks.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 2 days in the refrigerator.
These wraps can be frozen for up to 3 months; reheat in the oven to regain crispiness.
Consider adding crushed garlic or chili flakes to enhance the sauce flavor.
