- 1 ½ cups white granulated sugar
- ½ cup light corn syrup
- ⅓ cup water
- 3 drops red food dye
- Valentine’s Sprinkles
- Water + Lemon or Lime Juice
Instructions
- Slice the Granny Smith apples into wedges and soak in lemon or lime juice water.
- Shape the apple wedges into half-hearts and pair them up.
- Insert toothpicks and freeze for 1.5 hours.
- Combine sugar, corn syrup, and water in a saucepan; heat until boiling and reaches 300°F.
- Add red food dye, dip apple slices into the candy coating quickly.
- Sprinkle with Valentine’s sprinkles and press the paired slices together.
- Allow to set on parchment paper before removing toothpicks.
Notes
Work quickly while coating the apples to avoid cooling too much.
Store at room temperature for 2–3 days in an airtight container.
