Description
These Valentine’s Day Truffles bring together the charming combination of vanilla Oreos and creamy white chocolate. With their simple preparation and delightful flavor, they make for an ideal sweet treat for your loved ones. Enjoy making these easy, homemade delights for any special occasion.
Ingredients
Scale
- 36 vanilla oreos (about 15 ounces)
- 1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened
- 14–16 ounces white chocolate melts
- red oil-based food coloring (optional)
- sprinkles (optional)
Instructions
- Prepare a sheet pan by lining it with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a food processor, crumble the Oreos in 10-second increments until they form fine crumbs.
- Transfer the Oreo crumbs into a mixing bowl, then add in cream cheese. Mix well, preferably with your hands, to ensure even blending.
- Using a 1.5-tablespoon cookie scoop, shape the mixture into truffles and place them on the prepared baking sheet. Roll them into smooth balls, then chill in the freezer for 30 minutes or in the fridge for 1 hour.
- Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second intervals, stirring between. Alternatively, use a double boiler, placing a metal bowl over simmering water and melting gently over low heat.
- Once the chocolate is fully melted, you can add a few drops of food coloring to achieve your desired hue.
- Dip each truffle into the melted chocolate using a fork, ensuring they are fully coated. Tap off any excess chocolate before placing them back on the parchment-covered sheet.
- If you want to drizzle more chocolate, chill the truffles in the fridge or freezer for about 10 minutes before decorating them as desired.
- To add sprinkles, do so while the chocolate is still wet, or immediately after drizzling. Allow the chocolate to set for about 2 hours at room temperature.
Notes
Chiling the truffles helps them firm up, making them easier to coat in chocolate.
