- 2 slices bread (white, sourdough, or whole wheat)
- 1 tablespoon softened butter or mayo
- 2–3 slices cheese (sharp cheddar, American, provolone, Swiss, gouda, or a combo)
Instructions
- Preheat your air fryer to 370°F for 3–5 minutes.
- Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread. Place one slice butter-side down and layer cheese evenly on top, keeping it slightly from the edges. Add the second slice butter-side up, gently pressing the sandwich together. Insert a toothpick in the center to secure it.
- Place the sandwich in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Air fry at 370°F for 4–5 minutes. Carefully flip the sandwich and continue cooking for another 3–4 minutes until both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
- Remove the sandwich from the air fryer, take out the toothpick, slice, and enjoy!
