Description

This Chicken Parmesan Casserole is a delicious and easy dish featuring tender rotini pasta, flavorful marinara sauce, and plenty of melted cheese. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner, this recipe combines the classic flavors of chicken parmesan in a comforting casserole form everyone will enjoy!


Ingredients

  • 8 ounces rotini pasta
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 3 cups chicken cooked and shredded
  • 3 cups mozzarella cheese shredded, divided
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese grated, divided
  • ½ cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 Tablespoons butter melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Fresh basil for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Cook the rotini pasta according to package instructions. Drain and place in a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, shredded chicken, 1 cup mozzarella cheese, and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese to the pasta. Mix well.
  4. Transfer the pasta mixture to the prepared baking dish evenly.
  5. Sprinkle remaining 1 cup mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese on top of the pasta.
  6. In a small bowl, combine panko breadcrumbs, melted butter, and salt. Sprinkle over the cheese layer.
  7. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly and breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool for 5 minutes and garnish with fresh basil before serving.

Notes

Feel free to use leftover rotisserie chicken for convenience.
Add your favorite vegetables for extra nutrition and flavor.
For a spicier version, include red pepper flakes in the marinara sauce.
