- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 4 skinless salmon filets (about 6 oz each)
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 medium yellow onion, diced
- 3 cloves minced garlic
- 1 cup orzo (uncooked)
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions

- Marinate salmon filets for at least 10 minutes in this mixture.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the salmon for 3-4 minutes per side until golden and cooked through.
- In a separate pan, melt butter with olive oil, sauté onion until soft, then add minced garlic and orzo, toasting for 2-3 minutes.
- Pour in chicken broth, cream, and more lemon juice; simmer until orzo is tender and creamy, about 8-10 minutes.
- Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and creamy.
- Top orzo with seared salmon, garnish with parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
Ensure fresh lemon juice is used for the best flavor.
The orzo can be substituted with gluten-free pasta if needed.
For a lighter dish, consider reducing the amount of cream used.
