Description

This Easy Chicken and Gravy combines tender chicken breasts with a delectable gravy made from simple ingredients. Perfect for a comforting family dinner, this dish is not only flavorful but also quick to prepare, making it a staple for busy weekdays.


Ingredients

  • 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Pound chicken breasts to about ½ to ¾ inch thickness or slice large breasts in half.
  2. Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
  3. Place flour in a shallow bowl and dredge the chicken, shaking off excess flour.
  4. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook chicken for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Chicken does not need to be fully cooked.
  5. Transfer chicken to a plate and set aside.

Notes

Feel free to substitute the heavy cream with milk for a lighter version.
Pair with rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious gravy.
Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
