- 4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 2 cups chicken broth
- ½ cup heavy cream
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Pound chicken breasts to about ½ to ¾ inch thickness or slice large breasts in half.
- Season chicken with salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder on both sides.
- Place flour in a shallow bowl and dredge the chicken, shaking off excess flour.
- Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook chicken for 4 to 5 minutes per side until golden brown. Chicken does not need to be fully cooked.
- Transfer chicken to a plate and set aside.
Notes
Feel free to substitute the heavy cream with milk for a lighter version.
Pair with rice or mashed potatoes to soak up the delicious gravy.
