Description

These fudgy vegan brownies are a delightful treat with a rich chocolate flavor and a moist texture, thanks to unsweetened applesauce. Perfect for any occasion, these quick and easy brownies are made with simple ingredients for a delicious homemade dessert that everyone will enjoy!


Ingredients

  • ½ cup (118ml) vegetable oil
  • 1 ½ cups (300g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • ½ cup (20g) unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 4 ounces (113g) unsweetened applesauce (about ½ cup)
  • 2 ounces (57g) unsweetened chocolate, melted
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 ½ cups (186g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips (Vegan ones, to keep it vegan)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×9 inch pan with foil and lightly spray with cooking spray.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the vegetable oil and granulated sugar.
  3. Stir in the vanilla extract, cocoa powder, and applesauce. Mix in the melted chocolate and salt until the mixture is smooth.
  4. Gradually add the all-purpose flour and mix until just combined. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  5. Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-28 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Allow the brownies to cool before cutting them into squares.
  7. For an extra touch, dust with powdered sugar just before serving.
