Ingredients
Scale
- 4 oz baking chocolate
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 cup sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a 9×13-inch pan with foil, spraying it with cooking spray.
- In a large microwave-safe bowl, combine the baking chocolate and butter. Heat on HIGH for 2-3 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth. Stir in the sugar.
- Mix in the eggs, vanilla, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ¾ teaspoon of cayenne, salt, and 2 tablespoons of cocoa until well combined.
- Gently fold in the flour and then the mini chocolate chips.
- Spread the brownie batter evenly in the prepared pan. Bake for 20-25 minutes, checking with a toothpick until just a few crumbs stick to it. Allow to cool completely before cutting into squares.
- For the topping, whisk together the powdered sugar, ¼ teaspoon of cocoa, ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Sprinkle over the sliced brownies.
Notes
Make sure the chocolate is fully melted to achieve a smooth batter.
Letting the brownies cool completely before slicing helps them hold their shape better.
