- Medium Orange, Juice + Rind Grated (1)
- Walnuts, Chopped (1/2 cup)
- Honey (1 cup)
- Flour (3 tbsp for filling + 2 1/2 cups for crust)
- Butter Flavored Crisco (1 cup)
- Salt (1 tsp)
- Cold Water (5-6 tbsp)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Combine flour, butter-flavored Crisco, and salt in a large bowl until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add cold water, stirring until dough comes together.
- Roll out dough, place in pie pan, and prepare stuffing.
- Mix raisins, dates, apples, lemon juice, orange juice, walnuts, honey, and flour together for filling.
- Pour filling into pie crust and cover with second rolled-out dough layer.
- Make slits on top for ventilation, then bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, reduce heat to 375°F for 25 more minutes.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
