- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup dates, cut small
- 3 apples, diced
- 1 lemon, juice + rind grated
- 1 medium orange, juice + rind grated
- 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped
- 1 cup honey
- 3 tbsp flour for filling
- 2 1/2 cups flour for crust
- 1 cup butter flavored Crisco
- 1 tsp salt
- 5–6 tbsp cold water
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Combine flour, butter-flavored Crisco, and salt in a large bowl until it resembles coarse crumbs.
- Gradually add cold water, stirring until dough comes together.
- Roll out dough, place in pie pan, and prepare stuffing.
- Mix raisins, dates, apples, lemon juice, orange juice, walnuts, honey, and flour together for filling.
- Pour filling into pie crust and cover with second rolled-out dough layer.
- Make slits on top for ventilation, then bake at 400°F for 20 minutes, reduce heat to 375°F for 25 more minutes.
- Let cool slightly before serving.
