Description

One Pan Cheesy Beef Orzo is a comforting dish featuring seasoned ground beef, creamy melted cheese, and tender orzo, all cooked in one pan for a simple, delicious meal.

Ingredients

  • Ground Beef (2 pounds)
  • Yellow Onion (1 medium, finely diced)
  • Garlic (1 teaspoon, minced)
  • Kosher Salt (1 teaspoon)
  • Ground Black Pepper (½ teaspoon)
  • Onion Powder (½ teaspoon)
  • Crushed Red Pepper Flakes (½ teaspoon)
  • Orzo Pasta (1 cup, uncooked)
  • Beef Broth (3 cups)
  • Baby Spinach (2 cups)
  • Mozzarella Cheese (¾ cup, shredded)
  • Sharp Cheddar Cheese (¾ cup, shredded)
  • Fresh Parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

  • Brown ground beef and diced onion in a large skillet over medium heat for 8-10 minutes.
  • Drain excess grease, leaving about a tablespoon; add garlic, salt, black pepper, onion powder, and crushed red pepper, cooking for 30 seconds.
  • Add uncooked orzo to skillet, toasting for 1-2 minutes.
  • Pour in beef broth, bringing to a gentle simmer.
  • Lower heat, cover, and cook for 10-12 minutes, stirring occasionally until orzo is tender and liquid is absorbed.
  • Stir in baby spinach and cook for an additional minute.
  • Remove from heat; stir in mozzarella and cheddar until melted.
  • Garnish with parsley and serve.

Notes

For a healthier option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
For a milder flavor, you can use shallots instead of onion.
Feel free to add more veggies like bell peppers or zucchini for extra nutrition.
