- 1 box (18 oz) Crispix Cereal
- 2 cups halved pecans
- 1 cup butter
- 2 1/4 cups brown sugar
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°F and prepare baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a bowl, combine Crispix cereal and halved pecans gently.
- In a saucepan, melt butter with brown sugar and corn syrup over medium heat until boiling. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Remove from heat and stir in vanilla and salt.
- Pour caramel mixture over cereal and pecans, folding gently to coat.
- Spread the mixture in a single layer on baking sheets and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
- Allow to cool completely on sheets before breaking into pieces.
Notes
Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for even melting of butter.
Keep a close eye on cooking times to prevent hard caramel texture.
