Ingredients
- Pillsbury Crescent Rolls (1 tube)
- Cream Cheese (8 oz, softened)
- Powdered Sugar (1 cup)
- Strawberry Pie Filling (1 ½ cups)
- Egg (1, beaten)
- Sugar (for topping)
- Powdered Sugar (½ cup)
- Milk (1 tbsp)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F and prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Unroll the crescent rolls and shape into a smooth sheet, sealing seams.
- Cut 1-inch strips on both sides of the dough, leaving the center uncut.
- Mix cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth and spread it down the center of the dough.
- Layer strawberry pie filling over the cream cheese.
- Braid the dough strips over the filling and brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with sugar.
- Bake for 15 minutes until golden brown, then drizzle icing on top.
Notes
Make sure the cream cheese is softened for a smooth filling.
You can use fresh strawberries instead of pie filling for a fresher taste.
The strudel can be prepared a day ahead for convenience.
